Meh. Not anything in particular, just not as far along in the 'fully functional, healthy adult' journey as I thought I was. Plus, all the fucking work since we got back.
It would appear that contacts do not just freeze themselves into immobility when you're not around to watch them and make sure they don't do stupid shit.
How many people do we associate with who are that far along that journey? Even outside of spies and superheroes and kidnappees, most people aren't half as well adjusted as they think they are. Cut yourself some slack.
Why would contacts stop from doing stupid shit? That takes all the fun out of it for them.
I think you're trying too hard for a narrow vision of what fully functioning adults are. Sometimes the smug is a defense mechanism with people. You can be as smug as you want to cover.
They're just looking out for you. They don't want your days to be filled with nothing but paperwork.
